Diane DeMarco, Owner, founded Marketing @ Work in 2004 with the mission of providing high-quality marketing services to local and regional companies and organizations.
Diane has more years of experience than she’s usually willing to admit to, in every facet of marketing and communications: corporate and small business marketing, internal communications, public relations, publications, advertising and marketing. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Marketing Communications for the Frederick-based First Nationwide Mortgage Corporation.
Diane is active in the community, and has served as Marketing Chair for the Appalachian Trail District, an Ambassador for the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Habitat for Humanity Frederick County Marketing Committee. She is a former board member of the Greater Frederick Advertising Federation, is past vice president and marketing chair for the Frederick County Commission For Women, and served two terms as president of her Spring Ridge Friends and Neighbors (FAN) club.
She was also a member of the board of The Seton Center, Inc. in Emmitsburg, where she led the board’s marketing committee and the “Jump Start Your Job Search” program.
Mary Ann Beane, Creative Director/Graphic Designer, is a graduate of Shepherd University’s College of Fine Arts, where she earned her BFA in design and marketing. She has worked with a variety clients, from the corporate sector to the performing arts.
Before returning to Frederick, she worked at several top DC ad agencies, and was responsible for concept development and the design and production of projects ranging from corporate identity programs to ad and direct mail campaigns, exhibit graphics, re-branding and television commercials.
Past clients include IcelandAir Airlines, Marriott International, Ritz Camera Centers, and RiteAid Pharmacy. However, Mary Ann feels her “true calling” is helping the small-business/non-profit sector achieve success. She has provided designs for clients such as Guide Dogs of America, Cakes for a Cause and The American Red Cross.
Mary Ann has received more than 60 local, regional and national awards for her advertising and graphic design, and her work has been featured in HOW, Print and ADWeek Magazine.
Linda Norris, Senior Marketing Associate, is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She is a writer, journalist and corporate marketing communications expert who loves helping business and non-profit organizations tell their stories in ways that engage their customers and members. Linda is especially knowledgeable about issues of environmentally sustainable practices and faith-based communications.
Her career background was cultivated as a reporter for four different daily print news organizations; ten years as director of the Frederick County Office of Recycling, and a decade of marketing communications for a local steel manufacturer. In that position she headed up the company’s community relations activities; media and customer relations focused on engineering practices and green building; and event planning.
Linda is a member of the American Society for Association Executives' Marketing and Membership groups; the Maryland Recycling Network; the Frederick County Solid Waste Advisory Committee and the Frederick County League of Women Voters' Board of Directors.
Linda is also an energetic volunteer, and served as a Girl Scout leader. She is a marketing staff advisor at her church, Holy Family Catholic Community in Middletown, and lives in Middletown with her husband Eric, two teenage daughters and diffident cat, Alvin. She loves learning about wine, reading, the achievement of finishing 5Ks and hiking and biking.
Mary Ellen Mitchell, Senior Marketing Associate, brings a love of creative writing to the Marketing @Work team. Her work has appeared in regional newspapers and magazines over the past nine years, including Frederick Magazine, 270 Inc., and online at Want2Dish.com.
She has a background in non-profit development and public relations and has raised more than $4 million dollars to assist her former employers deliver programs and services to communities in Maryland and throughout the south eastern United States.
Her passion is to help the companies and non profits she works with to tell their stories in a compelling fashion to achieve their mission. She can often be found connecting volunteers with organizations and introducing business potential partners to each other to forward business goals. Mary Ellen is a graduate of Leadership Frederick County and serves on the LFC Council and chairs the Leaders on Loan Program. She is a Board member and Publicity Chair of the Western Maryland Association of Fundraising Professionals. Her volunteer work extends to her church, St Joseph on Carrollton Manor, where she is a member of the capital campaign committee and publicity chair of their Country Fair, which she co- founded in 1994.
When she is not attending a meeting or tapping the computer keys, Mary Ellen enjoys the company of her three 20-something children, attending theater, catching up with friends and family and bargain hunting.
Ian Cordeño, our Website Development Consultant, has been working with Marketing @ Work on various website projects for five-plus years. He provided support for the Mission of Mercy website, and design and development work for the Klaar College Consulting, Little Sparkie Electric, Launching College Success and Marketing @ Work websites. He also provides updates and support on websites for several other Marketing @ Work clients.
Additionally, he provides website and systems administrator support for clients in the U.S. and abroad, including the Africa Business Portal and Melbourne Chamber Orchestra.
